Implementing personal income tax management infrastructure and IT for the General Department of Taxation under the Vietnam Ministry of Finance

FPT IS was the general contractor for the project to “Apply information technology (IT) for managing the personal income tax (PIT) system” for the General Department of Taxation (GDT) in Vietnam with two bid packages worth about US$30 million.
According to the contract, FPT IS will deploy all the software applications and hardware (including the Unix server system, storage, network and security systems), and provide services to help the GDT’s 7000 users at 800 locations in 63 provinces and cities, and 770 tax departments across the country handle 15 million taxpayers. This is the largest centralized processing system ever implemented for the Vietnamese Government. Once in full operation, it will be the world’s largest tax management system based on SAP applications. FPT IS completed the all-in turnkey project for the entire PIT GDT management system, demonstrating the company’s capability to build extensive, large scale international IT systems.
