FPT.TDW - Telco Data Warehouse centralized data storage system for telecom providers
A data warehouse is the centralized data storage system that collects data from various sources of telecom service providers to produce analysis reports and facilitate decision making process. As the result of many years devising professional solutions for telecom service providers, FPT IS has developed the FPT.TDW Telco Data Warehouse system which is specifically designed to meet their requirements.
The system processes daily data from professional systems in a multi-service telecommunication network including fixed-phone, internet, and mobile. It is able to process up to 500 million records per day to ensure online enquiry for data analysis in a period from six to twelve months without any time limitation, through which the data have been standardized and arranged by topics. .
The system also provides centralized storage, standardization and the integration and/or establishment of data associations from telecom service provider business systems including the OSS operation support system and the BSS business support system.
FPT.TDW comprises the following modules:
- Data models for telecom providers including:
o A set of indices for business efficiency and performance (KPIs and KBIs).
o Data model for centralized data warehouse after data is standardized .
o Topic-oriented data model
- Reference data management.
- Data collection, processing and synthesis.

- Data exploitation and administration (BI Tools: Cognos IBM / Business Object)
- Integrates data from various sources and ensures data integrity and adaptability by:
- Providing a long term centralized data warehouse.
- Refining and standardizing stored data, and monitoring and controlling data quality to ensure the data can be integrated from various sources so that the system can provide the enterprise with a reliable and coherent data warehouse.
- Complying with data models inherited from prestigious software vendors and the real life implementation of professional management systems by FPT IS for most of the telecom providers in Vietnam. The solution can be extended and adapted for most business systems.
- Providing the capacity for telecom providers to exploit data by:
- Minimizing processing time and meeting the requirements for exploiting complex data on a complete data set; this allows the client's business systems to avoid processing too much data.
