In mid February, Da Nang and Bac Ninh became the first two localities in the country to pilot issuing new driving licenses based on applications built by FPT IS. The two localities have so far been successful with the acquisition, printing, issuance, and management of the driving licenses.
According to the project plans, the new driving licenses are expected to be implemented across the country in the second quarter this year after extensive training for system users.

The project will be deployed successively, being implemented at Departments of Transportation that are able to afford the infrastructure, human and material resources first.
FPT IS is currently training nearly 1,100 officials from 63 Departments of Transportation and 700 training institutions and examination centers in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho. The training is expected to end on April 11.
The successful implementation of the new driving license system will open up many opportunities for FPT IS, such as providing local support and data conversion for member units of the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, as well as encryption for information on the license and deploying infrastructure for driving license projects at Departments of Transportation nationwide.
