FPT IS successfully developed and tested the projects in two regional hospitals and two health centers in the province within five months, including the Moc Hoa and the Can Giuoc General Hospitals, the Chau Thanh district medical center and Can Duoc Health Centre. This is the first time such a project has been implemented successfully for four hospitals in such a short time.
The successful deployment of FPT.eHospital software in Long An province raises the number of hospitals and medical centers in the country using the solution to 35.
At the handing over ceremony, leaders of the hospitals and medical centers applying FPT.eHospital software in Phase I of the project evaluated the solution's effectiveness very highly. They said it will save doctors' time for receiving patients, examinations, and prescribing medication, as well as checking medical histories and reporting to the Department and Ministry of Health. Patients also receive better care based on an accurate medical history, as well as clear and easy-to-follow drug prescriptions and itemized bills for inpatients.
In the next phase of the project, FPT IS and the Long An Department of Health will cooperate to expand the FPT.eHospital solution to other medical establishments in the province.

Representatives of the Ministry and Departments of Health, as well as national and local hospitals, pointed out that the IT applications now have been applied seperately at hospitals due to the limitation in infrastructure system and IT application capacity of hospitals. "The application of management IT helps hospitals and health centers improve their efficiency and quality of health care, in addition to saving a lot of resources," said Mr. Le Van Hau, Deputy Director of the Long An Department of Health.
In addition to handing over the four projects deployed in Long An province, FPT IS also handed over two other FPT.eHospital projects for Phu Yen General Hospital on December 12 and Thanh Vu Hospital, Bac Lieu province, on December 13 to very positive response from the leaders of both hospitals.
FPT.eHospital software was developed over 10 years has already been installed in 35 major hospitals across the country. To help hospitals optimize their services as quickly as possible, FPT IS has plans to upgrade the solution and create a high-end product line to meet the specialized needs of the health care profession and provide comprehensive management for hospital operations.
Many software companies offer hospital management software today and many foreign software solutions have appeared in the Vietnamese market, however, FPT.eHospital is still the leader in meeting general management and specific professional requirements. FPT.eHospital has been chosen for five-star international hospitals in Vietnam, such as the Vincom Group's new Vinmec International Hospital in Vincom Village, Hanoi America International Hospital.
FPT plans to upgrade FPT.eHopital so it can be expanded to foreign markets, beginning with the ASEAN region.
