FPT IS to cooperate with Hitachi Solutions on GIS

From 14 - 16 September, representatives from Hitachi Solutions, part of the Japanese Hitachi Group, worked with FPT IS to cooperate in broad deployment of Geographic Information System GIS services for Government agencies, domestic and regional organizations, and individuals.

Japanese map publisher, Zenrin, which accounts for for 90% of the mapping market in Japan, also participated in this cooperation. An FPT IS representative welcomed their delegation to Hanoi on September 14-15 and a survey delegation on September 16.
Basic objectives and the next steps in the cooperation were proposed and discussed at the meeting.
GIS was created in the 1960s but only came to Vietnam after the year 2000. Understanding the outstanding advantages of GIS technology, all parties consider Vietnam a potential market but there are many challenges to overcome that require very close cooperation from the initial market surveys through to the specific deployment in the future.
