Building driving licence management system
On June 13, FPT IS signed a contract to "create software for database input, training and transferring knowledge" for the Vietnam Road Administration. This is part of the project to "build a centralized database for the national driving license management system." FPT IS will design and implement a software system to facilitate advanced, synchronized management of driving licences and provide a comprehensive database for driving training and examinations, as well as improving the printing, issuing and control of driving licences. The system will use modern technology to record applicant information directly into the system verification of certificate authority. It will also encrypt the data on the portrait printed on the driving licence and print licenses using dye sublimination re-transfer technology so they can be managed via SMS.
Providing telecommunications equipment for Gtel
At the end of May 2011, FPT IS and Alcatel Lucent signed a multi-million dollar contract to provide telecommunications equipment and services for Gtel Mobile. FPT IS and Alcatel Lucent will install 416 base transceiver stations (BTS) and 616 microwave pairs for Gtel Mobile in northern and central Vietnam over a period of six months. Gtel Mobile intends to install thousands more BTSs across the nation in the future. This contract creates a foundation for FPT IS to penetrate the telecommunications industry and work with other major clients in this field.
Strategic cooperation with Telecom Cambodia
On March 28, 2011, FPT IS and Telecom Cambodia signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU). Accordingly, FPT IS will provide consultations and implement core software infrastructure to help Telecom Cambodia improve their competitiveness and management capacity. Telecom Cambodia is adminstrated by the Cambodian Ministry of Post and Telecommunications. The company provides dial-up phone services, IPLC, TV transmissions, Gateway-1, 154 international calls and internet services, and has a fiber optics backbone cable connected with Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.
4,000 enterprises usingFPT IS electronic customs clearance software
The new electronic customs clearance software from FPT IS was launched in November 2011and by the end of June 2011, four thousand enteprises were using this software for their customs declarations. The product is currently provided for free and it has helped import-export companies apply modern technolgy for customs, thereby promoting trade, reducing the time and cost of customs procedures and contributing to socio-economic development. The product was given the "Venus Star" award by the Vietnam Software Association in June 2011.
More than 10,000 clients using FPT IS' Certificate Authority services
By the end of June 2011, over 10,000 clients were using FPT IS certificate authority services. Thorough understanding of the client's professional operations and applications in public finance, banking, securities, telecommunications and government business is the key factor enabling FPT IS to effectively integrate digital signature services into the client's current system.
FPT IS produces software to support elections in Ho Chi Minh city.
Election software developed by FPT IS was used in Ho Chi Minh City for the 13th National Assembly and People's Council elections for the 2011-2016 tenure. This was the first city in Vietnam to apply such software at its People's Committee, Department of Home Affairs and 24 districts and communes. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communication asked FPT IS to develop software to provide fast, convenient, accurate information during the election. The project was implemented from December 2010 to March 2011, and its success confirmed Ho Chi Minh City's pioneering role in applying information technology for administrative management. It also confirmed FPT IS's leading role in providing software applications for the government.
Implementing ERP for the State Bank
The project to build a centralized budget isssuing and management system for the State Bank of Vietnam was launched at the Department of Information Technology at 64 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Hanoi, on January 21, 2011. The project is being implemented at 69 sites throughout the country over the next 18 months to help the State Bank provide standardized, centralized information to regulate cash flow and support the Bank's analysis and decision making. The State Bank of Vietnam is one of the first state banks in South East Asia to implement the ERP system.
Building ISMS system for IT Block- Bao Viet Group
On March 31, 2011, FPT IS and the Bao Viet Group signed a contract to "build an Information Security Management System for the IT Block of Bao Viet Group." By choosing FPT IS as the project consultant and implementer, Bao Viet Group aims to secure its information system at the highest level to comply with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard. It also plans to expand the ISMS throughout the entire group.
Strategic cooperation with FICOMBANK
On June 16, FPT IS signed a strateginc cooperation agreement with the First Commercial Joint Stock Bank (FICOMBANK) to provide consultation and modern information systems for the bank. FPT IS will send experts to collaborate with the bank's technical staff and draw up a plan for investing in and modernizing banking technology in the short, medium and long term, in line with the bank's development strategy and new global IT trends. FPT IS will also negotiate with foreign vendors to build and implement specific projects for the bank, and help the bank deal with problems that may arise during its daily operations. FICOMBANK, in return, has committed to prioritize the use of FPT IS products and services.
FPT IS BPO service meets Japanese client's expectations
The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) center of FPT IS has successfully earned the further trust of the Japanese Itochu Shokuhin Company in the year since a contract was signed between the two parties in August 2010. The total number of the client's reconciled accounts payable rose in three consecutive months from 2956 to 3200, the maximum number of accounts FPT IS is able to process. When account reconciliation stabilizes, FPT IS will have the opportunity to help the client examine accounting differences.
