Accompanying Poor pupils in Tay Ninh
Update 17/08/2012

From now until the end of August 2012, FPT IS will promote its voluntary fundraising campaign “Accompanying Poor pupils in Tay Ninh” to support the dreams of pupils in Phuoc My hamlet, Phuoc Chi ward, Trang Bang town, Tay Ninh province to escape poverty.

Phuoc My is located near the Vam Co Dong River more than 100 km from HCM City by road, or 30 minutes by boat. More than 70% of the 141 primary school students come from poor households that earn around VND 600,000 per month. They must walk across monkey bridges and along dirt roads, wade through ditches or travel many kilometers on the river just to get to school. They also face dangers along the way; four months ago, three pupils were reported missing when their riverboat capsized.

Contributions from FPT IS staff will be used to buy notebooks, pens, sweets, and raincoats for the school, and gifts and scholarships will be awarded to outstanding pupils and teachers.
